Terms & Conditions — Golden Women Awards

These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Golden Women Awards website at goldenwomenawards.com ("Website") and your participation in the Golden Women Awards program ("Program"), operated by Golden Tree Events LLC ("we," "our," or "us"), a company registered in the United Arab Emirates. By accessing the Website, submitting a nomination, or participating in the Program in any capacity, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use our Website or submit a nomination.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By submitting a nomination to the Golden Women Awards, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions in their entirety, together with our Privacy Policy and Refund Policy, which are incorporated herein by reference. These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and Golden Tree Events LLC. If you are submitting a nomination on behalf of another person or organization, you represent and warrant that you have the authority to bind that person or organization to these Terms.

2. Nomination Eligibility

To be eligible for the Golden Women Awards, nominees must meet the following criteria:

Individual Nominees: The nominee must identify as a woman and must be actively engaged in a professional, entrepreneurial, leadership, scientific, creative, social, or other recognized capacity at the time of nomination. There is no minimum age requirement, though nominees under 18 must have parental or guardian consent provided in writing.

Organizational Nominees: Organizations nominated for women-focused or women-led categories must be able to demonstrate substantive women's leadership or impact in their sector.

Geographical Eligibility: We accept nominations from over 50 countries. Nominees must be primarily operating or resident in the country under which they are nominated. See our country awards page for eligible countries.

Truthfulness of Information: All nomination information must be accurate, truthful, and verifiable. We reserve the right to verify any claims made in a nomination and to disqualify nominations found to contain false, misleading, or exaggerated information.

Prior Winners: Previous Golden Women Award winners may be nominated in subsequent years for different award categories. Nominations in the same category within a two-year period are not permitted without special approval from our awards committee.

Staff and Judges: Employees, directors, contractors, and immediate family members of Golden Tree Events LLC, and members of the current judging panel, are not eligible for nomination during their term of involvement with the Program.

3. Nomination Fees

Submission of a nomination to the Golden Women Awards requires payment of a nomination processing fee. The applicable fee schedule is published on our nomination portal at goldenwomenawards.com/award-nomination and may vary by award category and package selected.

Non-Refundable Nature: Nomination fees are generally non-refundable once payment has been processed and the nomination form has been submitted. This policy reflects the administrative costs involved in reviewing, processing, and evaluating each nomination. Please review our Refund Policy for details on exceptional circumstances where refunds may be considered.

Fee Inclusions: The nomination fee covers the evaluation of the nomination by our expert judging panel, the administrative processing of your submission, shortlisting notification, and access to winner recognition benefits where applicable. Additional packages may include enhanced promotional benefits as described on the nomination portal.

Fee Changes: We reserve the right to modify our fee structure at any time. The fee applicable to your nomination is the fee published at the time you submit and pay. Changes to fees after payment has been received will not apply to your current nomination.

4. Judging Process and Final Decisions

The Golden Women Awards judging process is conducted by an independent panel of global experts selected for their expertise, integrity, and knowledge of women's leadership and excellence across relevant industries and geographies.

Independence: Our judging panel operates independently of Golden Tree Events LLC's commercial interests. Panel members sign independence and conflict of interest declarations before participating in any judging activity.

Scoring Criteria: Nominations are evaluated against our published judging criteria, which assess leadership impact, innovation, business excellence, community contribution, and overall achievement. Criteria may be weighted differently for different award categories.

Finality of Decisions: The decisions of the judging panel are final and binding. We do not enter into correspondence regarding judging decisions, scoring, or the outcome of individual nominations. By submitting a nomination, you expressly agree that you will not challenge, appeal, or seek legal redress in connection with any judging decision.

Right to Disqualify: We reserve the right to disqualify any nomination at any stage of the process if we determine that eligibility criteria have not been met, that information provided is false or misleading, that the nominee's conduct brings the Program into disrepute, or for any other legitimate reason at our sole discretion. In cases of disqualification prior to judging, a partial refund may be considered at our discretion.

5. Winner Obligations

By accepting a Golden Women Award, winners agree to the following obligations:

Attend the Gala: Winners are strongly encouraged and expected to attend the annual Golden Women Awards Gala ceremony in Dubai (or the relevant regional ceremony) to receive their award in person. If attendance is not possible, winners must notify us at least 30 days prior to the event. We reserve the right to present the award in absentia or defer it to a future ceremony.

Winner Badge and Logo: Winners receive a digital winner badge and logo for use in marketing, on their website, in email signatures, and in promotional materials. The badge must be used in its original form without modification. The badge may not be used in any way that misrepresents the award, the category, or the year of recognition. The license to use the badge terminates if the winner is found to have obtained the award through misrepresentation.

Endorsement: Winners grant Golden Women Awards and Golden Tree Events LLC a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use their name, photograph, professional biography, and quotes from their nomination or gala speech in our promotional materials, website, social media, press releases, and publications. Winners will be consulted on factual accuracy. This license may be withdrawn with 30 days' written notice.

Conduct: Winners represent Golden Women Awards as ambassadors of women's excellence. We reserve the right to rescind an award if a winner is found to have engaged in conduct materially inconsistent with the values of women's empowerment, ethical business practice, or lawful conduct.

6. Intellectual Property

All intellectual property on the Golden Women Awards website, including but not limited to our name, logo, award marks, trophy designs, website content, editorial content, photography, and design elements, is the property of Golden Tree Events LLC or its licensors and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws.

You may not reproduce, distribute, modify, create derivative works from, publicly display, or otherwise use our intellectual property without our prior written consent. The winner badge and logo are licensed for use by winners only as described in these Terms. Unauthorized use of our award marks or logos is a violation of these Terms and applicable intellectual property law and may result in legal action.

7. User Conduct and Website Use

By using our website, you agree not to: transmit any content that is unlawful, defamatory, fraudulent, or harmful; attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of our systems; use our website for any purpose that violates applicable law; submit nominations containing false information; or interfere with the proper functioning of our website or services.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Golden Tree Events LLC shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your participation in the Program or use of our website, including but not limited to loss of business opportunity, loss of revenue, loss of reputation, or loss of data, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages. Our total aggregate liability to you in connection with the Program shall not exceed the nomination fee you paid for the relevant nomination cycle.

9. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Emirate of Dubai and the federal laws of the United Arab Emirates. Any dispute arising from or in connection with these Terms or the Program shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Dubai, UAE. Before resorting to formal legal proceedings, you agree to make good faith efforts to resolve any dispute through direct negotiation with us by contacting awards@goldentreeawards.com.

10. Changes to These Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. When we make material changes, we will update the Effective Date at the top of this page. Your continued use of our website or participation in the Program after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms. We encourage you to review these Terms periodically. For nominations already in progress, the Terms in effect at the time of nomination submission shall apply unless you expressly agree to updated Terms.
