Honoring women-led startups, bold founders, and high-growth scale-ups that are disrupting industries, attracting investment, and reshaping economies across the globe.
Women-led startups are outperforming market benchmarks, delivering higher returns on investment, and building businesses that solve the world's most pressing problems with purpose and precision.
The global startup ecosystem has undergone a seismic shift. Women founders are no longer the exception — they are an unstoppable force reshaping the entrepreneurial landscape from Dubai to Delhi, from London to Lagos, from New York to Nairobi. Research from Boston Consulting Group demonstrates that for every dollar of funding raised, women-led startups generate 78 cents more in revenue than their male-led counterparts. The data is clear: when women build, the world wins.
Yet despite this exceptional performance, women-led startups receive disproportionately less venture capital, less media attention, and less public recognition than they deserve. The Women Startup Awards were created to close that visibility gap. By placing women startup founders on a global stage, we amplify their stories to the investors, partners, customers, and collaborators who need to find them.
Every year, our Women Startup Awards honors standout startups across six dedicated categories — from early-stage ventures still finding product-market fit, to scale-ups preparing for Series B raises or international expansion. No matter where you are on your startup journey, if you are building something remarkable, the Golden Women Awards wants to celebrate it.
Six dedicated award tracks recognize women startup founders at every stage of growth, across every industry, and in every corner of the globe.

Startups do not need to be profitable to apply. We welcome pre-revenue startups with strong MVPs, revenue-generating early stage companies, and high-growth scale-ups at all revenue stages from $50K to $50M+.
The primary founder, CEO, or majority controlling shareholder of the business must be a woman. Co-founded ventures with a woman as the lead decision-maker are fully eligible. The company must be actively operating.
Women startup awards are open to founders based in all 50+ eligible countries including UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, UK, USA, Singapore, Malaysia, Australia, Germany, France, Canada, and South Africa.
All industries are welcome. Technology, healthcare, fintech, edtech, sustainability, retail, food and beverage, manufacturing, media, professional services, and all other sectors are fully eligible for nomination.
Nominations must include verifiable evidence of achievements — revenue figures, customer metrics, team growth data, media coverage, investor backing, or impact measurements. Strong evidence strengthens your nomination significantly.
Our expert panel applies six rigorous evaluation criteria to identify the most outstanding women-led startups of the year.
The vision, resilience, decision-making capability, and team-building ability of the founding woman leader is the primary assessment factor.
Revenue growth, customer acquisition rate, retention metrics, gross margin improvement, and other quantitative business performance indicators.
How fundamentally the startup challenges existing market assumptions, creates new categories, or deploys technology in novel ways that competitors have not yet replicated.
The size of the addressable market, the startup's current market penetration, and the credibility of its path to significant scale nationally or internationally.
The positive outcomes the startup creates for employees, communities, the environment, or underserved populations beyond its core business model.
The founder's approach to building a sustainable, resilient business that can weather market cycles and contribute to long-term economic and social value creation.
Understanding the funding landscape for women entrepreneurs is critical to appreciating why the Women Startup Awards matter so profoundly.
Women-led startups currently receive only 2.3% of all global venture capital funding despite consistently outperforming male-led ventures on key return metrics. This funding gap represents both an injustice and a massive market opportunity that forward-thinking investors are beginning to address. The Women Startup Awards plays a direct role in correcting this imbalance by increasing the visibility of exceptional women founders to the investor community.
Our data shows that 74% of Women Startup Award nominees report receiving at least one investor enquiry within six months of their nomination becoming public. Winners report even stronger outcomes — an average of 2.4 new investor introductions within 12 months of winning. Several Women Startup Award winners have gone on to close funding rounds within 18 months of their recognition, directly attributing investor interest to the credibility signal their award provided.
The awards also have significant impact on commercial partnerships. 68% of winners report forming at least two major new commercial partnerships within a year of winning. The Golden Women Awards network actively facilitates these connections through our winner community events, mentorship programs, and investor briefings.

A prestigious women startup award acts as an independent third-party validation that gives investors confidence in a founder's credibility and the startup's quality. It de-risks the investment conversation and opens doors to capital that might otherwise remain closed.
Award winners receive dedicated press releases, media outreach, and social media campaigns reaching millions of business professionals globally. This media visibility creates organic inbound from customers, partners, and investors who discover the startup through award coverage.
Our global winner community connects startups with established corporations, distribution partners, enterprise customers, and strategic advisors — relationships that can take years to cultivate organically but that the awards community makes accessible immediately.
For startups seeking international expansion, global award recognition establishes credibility in new markets before you have a local presence. It introduces your brand to decision-makers in target countries through the award's international media and community reach.
Top talent wants to work for recognized, credible companies. Winning a Women Startup Award significantly improves a startup's ability to attract exceptional employees who are choosing between multiple opportunities.
